Draw lotteries in Australia
Draw lotteries are defined as those lottery games that are played with a fixed number of tickets – in other words, they work in the same way as a raffle. Because the game is closed to players once all tickets have been sold, the odds of winning are also fixed. The advantage of draw lotteries over other lotteries is that you can’t end up sharing a jackpot prize with other winners – if you win the top prize, it’s all yours!
Lucky Lotteries
New South Wales Lotteries offers two draw lotteries known as Lucky Lotteries, and both work in exactly the same way. The only difference between the $2 Jackpot Lottery and the $5 Jackpot Lottery (apart from the entry fee, which should be obvious) is the number of tickets available and the number or prizes that can be won. Both games assign numbers to players at random, so you can’t select your own, and the prize/ticket details for each are as follows:

Casket
Casket is a draw lottery that has been played in Queensland for more than 90 years. The game costs $2 to play, and is therefore also referred to as the $2 Casket. A maximum of 110,000 tickets are sold, and draws take place roughly every six weeks. Unlike the Lucky Lotteries described previously, the Casket game allows players to select their own numbers or to have them picked randomly at the point of purchase.
