Oz Lotto
Oz Lotto was launched on 26 February 1994, and was originally a very similar game to the existing Tattslotto, requiring players to pick 6 numbers from 45. However, Oz Lotto was overhauled in 2005 so that players could select 7 numbers from 45. There are seven prize levels, referred to as Divisions, and for these reasons the game is often referred to as Super 7’s Oz Lotto or as Oz 7 Lotto, depending on the jurisdiction.
The Oz Lotto draw takes place every Tuesday, and during the draw nine numbers are selected at random by the lottery machine. The first seven are the main “winning” numbers and the last two are “supplementary” numbers. The prize that is paid is dependent on how many of these numbers the player matches, with the jackpot going to those who match all 7 winning numbers, as illustrated in the following table:

The amount of money available to be won in each division depends on the number of tickets that have been purchased, but there is a guarantee that the First Division pool will be worth a minimum of $1 million. If no First Division winner is found in a particular draw, the jackpot fund rolls over to the next draw, and Oz Lotto rules allow for up to 25 consecutive rollovers, which basically means that jackpots in the region of $30 million are perfectly possible under the right circumstances.
Australian residents can play Oz Lotto by completing an Oz Lotto play slip obtained from any Tattersall’s lottery outlet. Each play slip has fifteen game boards, allowing the player to enter up to fifteen different sets of numbers for the same draw on a single slip. The numbers can also be entered into multiple draws if the player is prepared to pay for the tickets in advance. Individuals who want to play Oz Lotto but who do not reside in Australia can buy their tickets online.
