Lottery Advice, National Lottery
Last week I identified six types of lottery player, and stated that regardless of the game you play, you would fit neatly into one of the categories I outlined. In this week’s Lotto Blog entry, I offer lottery advice for each type of player – think of it as my Christmas gift for 2008!
First, make sure that you know which category of player you most identify with. If you missed last weeks lottery blog entry then take a look at Lottery Players and bring yourself up to speed. It can also be fun to categorise other lottery players that you know so that you can also see what lottery advice I have for them. My self-proclaimed words of wisdom are as follows:
Dabblers
Dabbling is all well and good, but there is something to be said for sticking with one game for several consecutive draws. One advantage of doing this is that you can play the same set of numbers for several weeks and watch how they perform. Consider entering the same line(s) for a handful of consecutive draws and see if you don’t get a greater sense of anticipation by doing so.
Loyalists
Loyalists can benefit from shaking things up a little. After all, variety is the spice of life and there are plenty of lottery games that you can choose to play. You don’t have to be disloyal to your main game to add some variety to your life. You could simply treat yourself to a ticket for a different lotto game now and again, or even try your hand at casino games online. Who knows, one simple change could be your key to a fortune!
Whimsies
Whimsies might like the think about the benefits of planning their lottery participation a bit more. This could be particularly useful when it comes to the topic of lottery budgeting, because planning how many tickets to buy and how often you play will automatically help you to calculate – and budget for – the total cost involved.
Fatalists
Fatalists should understand that if success or failure really is destined to happen then it doesn’t matter what numbers you play – you will win or lose accordingly. Realising this will help you let go of any concern you have about playing the “right” numbers or interpreting your dreams in the “right” way.
Rationalists
Rationalists are a scientific bunch, so why not have some fun with magical thinking as a scientific experiment? Try pretending for 90 days that your thoughts can attract good things into your life. If you notice no difference after 90 days then you lose nothing, but you just might win the lottery on the way...
Magicians
Magicians can usually improve their chances by considering the real-world odds of winning a lottery game. Consider playing a lottery that offers you the best chance of winning a prize and then apply your magical thinking to that. By taking this approach, you could have the best of both worlds.
Astute readers will note that in each of the sections above I have advised players to expand their horizons and try an approach that is considered normal for lottery players in another category. I have done this because I think that we all have a bit of each category within us all, and shifting our emphasis from one approach to another can be a great way of keeping our lottery participation fresh and exciting.
Here’s wishing you a Merry Christmas!
