Christmas 2008
Okay, it’s official – the countdown to Christmas 2008 has now started and we have just a few Lotto draws left before Santa once again shuns the front door in favour of the chimney. That means it’s as good a time as any to think about this year’s options when it comes to buying gifts for the lottery player in your life...
Lucky Digital Keychain
My first suggestion is a new keychain that allows you to display a dozen or two images in a digital photo frame. These gadgets cost less than £20 and allow the owner to transfer images from their PC to the keychain display via a USB connector. Why not pre-load the device with images that will make the recipient feel lucky?
Lucky Sixpence
The Royal Mint are selling a lucky Silver Sixpence for just under £7. This is a genuine coin struck between 1920 and 1947, it contains 50% silver and it comes in a special pull-string gift pouch. Having been a symbol of luck at Christmastime for generations, this coin is something that the recipient can carry around in their purse or wallet so that they see it whenever they buy lottery tickets.
Novelty Safe
Many lottery players have a hard time finding a good place to store their tickets safely, and this is why lost tickets are so common. You can help solve that problem by giving the lottery player in your life a novelty safe. These are hollow receptacles disguised as everyday objects – for example, as a book, beer can or tin of baked beans. They only cost a few pounds and could help to keep a jackpot winning ticket safe and secure until the winner decides to make their claim!
Lottery Tickets
I will round off this list of gift suggestions with the one that no lottery player can fail to appreciate – lottery tickets themselves. You could buy a variety of Lotto, EuroMillions and scratchcard tickets or just buy one Lucky Dip ticket that has been entered for several weeks. Either way, if the lottery results come out right, your gift could be worth millions!
