Lottery Tips
Well, I didn't scoop the Euromillions jackpot last Friday, but the consoling news is that nobody else did either, and this means that we have an estimated £45,000,000 jackpot to look forward to tomorrow. This will be the last Euromillions draw of 2006, so if by some wonderful stroke of luck someone wins the top prize, the new year celebrations will undoubtedly have some extra special significance.
The rollovers are just as prominent in the USA, with both the Powerball and MegaMillions lotteries seeing their jackpots grow for the final draws of the year, so no matter which side of the Atlantic you're sitting on, there's plenty of lottery action to get your teeth into.
Of course, if you don't win the big one in 2006 then you have twelve sparklingly fresh months of 2007 waiting for you just around the corner. Here are a couple of tips you might like to consider in an effort to improve your chances...
4 Play more tickets. As I said in a previous post, you can't change the odds of any lottery game, but you can give yourself a slightly bigger chance of winning by buying more tickets. The best way of doing this is to play as a syndicate, so if you haven't already joined a syndicate or formed one of your own, consider doing so in 2007. See my Lottery Syndicates entry for details.
4 Avoid popular numbers. The more "popular numbers" you include in your entries (I'm thinking of days of the month, the "lucky" number 7 and so on) the more chance there is that you will have to share any jackpot win with other players. Include at least one number near the top of the available number range so that you won't have to share a top prize with anyone focusing entirely on birthdays and anniversaries.
Try taking these two hints on board and the chances are that, if you do win a jackpot, your prize will probably be bigger than it would have been otherwise.
