How to play the Daily Play

The last ever Daily Play draw took place on Friday 6th May 2011, making the following details for information purposes only.

Daily Play was a National Lottery game that had a draw every day of the week except on Sundays and Christmas Day. This gave you 312 draws per year to enjoy, and with a 1 in 8 chance of winning any prize, you could potentially win time after time. Here’s how the game was played...

Step 1 – Choosing Your Numbers

You had to obtain a Daily Play lottery play slip and mark seven numbers from 1-27 with a neat horizontal line. There were several boards of numbers on one play slip and this allowed you to choose several lines of numbers for the same draw. Each line costs £1 to enter. If you wanted one more lines of numbers to be generated entirely at random, you could mark the Lucky Dip option next to a blank board. The lottery software would then pick your seven numbers on your behalf.

Step 2 – Choosing Your Draws

You could enter the same line(s) of numbers for up to six consecutive draws. This allowed you to enter the Daily Play game every day even if you only visited your lottery retailer once a week. To take advantage of this feature, you had to select the number of draws that you wanted to enter by marking the relevant number of draws on your play slip. Note that any lines that are generated using the Lucky Dip facility would be entered for every draw without any change from day to day.

Step 3 – Getting Your Ticket

You had to hand your completed play slip to the lottery retailer with the appropriate entry fee and you would be given your official Daily Play lottery ticket.

Step 4 – Winning On Daily Play

There were five prize levels in all, and these are show below, along with the odds of you winning:

How to Win Prize Odds of Winning

Match 6 numbers £300 1 in 6,344
Match 5 numbers £30 1 in 223
Match 4 numbers £5 1 in 23

Step 5 – Claim Your Prize

You had up to 180 days from the draw to lodge your claim. If you missed this deadline then any prize you were due would be forfeited and the money went to the lottery fund for Good Causes instead.
