Millionaire Raffle

The Millionaire Raffle game which is offered from time to time by the Irish Lottery has nothing to do with the Millionaire Raffle game that is associated with the EuroMillions game. The Millionaire Raffle from the Irish Lottery is an infrequent game which is only offered as and when the operator sees fit, so all of the information here is based on the most recent game of 2011 and may well change for any future draws that take place.

When a Millionaire Raffle game is announced a limited number of tickets are offered for sale (the last draw in 2011 issued 250,000 tickets) and these give the players one or more chances to win a prize. We say one or more chances because in the last game the Millionaire Raffle tickets were valid for three 'early bird' bonus draws as well as for one main draw. All of these draws were spread over several weeks, and each bonus draw (which took place on 14 February, 17 March and 3 April in 2011) awarded five prizes of €10,000 each. The aim of the bonus draws was of course to provide players with an incentive to purchase their Millionaire Raffle tickets early.

The last main draw in a Millionaire Raffle game took place on Monday 25 April, 2011. A preliminary draw on that date randomly selected 1,134 tickets as prize winners from all of the tickets that had been sold and those 1,134 tickets were then entered into a Final Draw to determine the prize that each ticket would qualify for. The 1,134 prizes were as follows:

When the 15 prizes of €10,000 from the previous bonus draws are taken into consideration, you can see that the total number of winning tickets for the last Millionaire Raffle in 2011 was 1,149.

As we said previously, all of this information relates to the last Millionaire Raffle draw only, and it should not therefore be automatically assumed that the number of tickets, prizes or prize amounts will be the same the next time the game is offered.
