Euromillions Jackpot Rolls Over For the Sixth Time

Last Updated: Monday 15th October 2012, 13:00

EuroMillionsEuromillions players last night were on the edge of their seats waiting to see if anyone would win the five times rolled over jackpot, which was last night estimated at €61 / £48,445 million. Yet despite healthy ticket sales from all over Europe, it seems this rollover spree is set to continue, with this jackpot now rolling over for the sixth time. But will it reach £100 million?

The highest ever rollover jackpot occurred on 12th July 2011, with the Euromillions rolling over a whopping 12 times. This led to a massive jackpot of a cool €185 / £161 million, which was won by lucky UK couple Colin and Christine Weir.

Long term rollovers often lead to wins in excess of €134 / £100 million. As recently as 5th June 2012 (draw 492), an eleven time rollover jackpot led to two winners from the UK and Belgium scooping over €158 / £127 million between them. Then, before that on 13th September 2011 (draw 415) a thirteen time rollover again meant a jackpot of a huge €162 / £140 million, which was won by just one lucky individual from France.

Although the jackpot is currently capped to prevent it reaching above €190 million, reaching €100 million is becoming more and more common. On average, the jackpot has to roll over approximately eight to ten times in order to smash that €100 million target.

So, with the Euromillions jackpot due to roll for the sixth time on this Friday’s draw, there is no better time to buy tickets and be in with a chance to win Friday’s estimated £59 million.
