Last Updated: Friday 16th January 2015, 09:35

Lottery BallsIn January, the National Lottery is launching a brand new game but you need to make the most of it, as it’s only going to be running for a few weeks. Lotto Plus 5 launches at the start of the new year and lottery organisers are hoping the Lotto Plus 5 will raise the remaining £200 million promised to the Olympic 2012 fund. The National Lottery has already raised £500 million for the games, via special games and the Dream Number but the Lotto Plus 5 will go a long way to raise the rest and give lottery players an exciting new draw to participate in.

If you wish to play Lotto Plus 5, you won’t need to choose any numbers, simply ‘opt in’ with your usual lottery numbers. If you choose to Plus 5 your lottery tickets, you will pay an extra £1 and be in with a chance of winning up to £250,000 on days when the Lotto draw isn’t played.

So for five days a week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the Lotto Plus 5 draw will take place, using your usual lottery numbers. That’s five entries for just £1 but be quick as the Lotto Plus 5 is only taking place for a few weeks in the New Year.

The Lottery organisers estimated around half a million winners every week from the draw with set prizes ranging from £2.50 for matching three numbers right up to £250,000 for matching the top prize, and you get five chances each week (equating to 20p a day).

Look out for the Lotto Plus 5 option appearing on your lottery tickets in the New Year and do your bit for the London 2012 while increasing your chances of winning a lottery prize!
