Destiny won a National Lottery jackpot for a Dewsbury woman who scooped £1,218,618 on Saturday 19 July, 2008. Susan Crossland matched all six numbers on a line that her late father used to play – a line she felt would prove lucky after seeing white feathers on the anniversary of his passing.

A couple of naturists from Kent matched five main Lotto numbers and the bonus ball to win £240,928 on Saturday 5 July. Brian Tucker and his partner Margaret Dallard celebrated with a romantic dinner in London before taking in a show.

Horsham Couple Celebrates
A couple from Horsham in West Sussex are celebrating after matching all six main Lotto numbers on Saturday 05 July. Bob Green and his wife Pat won a half share of the £4,698,110 jackpot, and are now £2,349,055 richer.

Super Lotto Luck
A shop assistant had some super Lotto luck when she matched the bonus ball as well as five main numbers to win a £120,814 second tier prize on Wednesday 25 June, 2008. The winning main numbers were 11, 12, 22, 23, 24 and 36 and the bonus ball that turned her Lotto win into a super Lotto win was 26.

Oklahoma Powerball
An Oklahoma Powerball player has won $1,000,000 by matching all five main numbers but not the Powerball number on Thursday 12 June. This would normally have given the player just $200,000, but he also exercised his Power Play option and succeeded in multiplying that prize by 5, making him the newest Oklahoma Lottery millionaire.

Lotto Dip Proves Lucky
A Lucky Dip lottery ticket bought by a UK lottery player in Carlisle lived up to its name when landing a share of the jackpot on Saturday 14 June. The jackpot fund was worth £12,154,268, so although there were four winning tickets, 51 year old builder Anthony Nutbrown still scooped a massive £3,038,567.

New Mexico Lottery
A New Mexico Lottery syndicate won $400,000 thanks to matching five main numbers and the Power Play multiplier in the Powerball game on Saturday 7 June. Ordinarily they would have won $200,000 by matching the main numbers, but because they matched the Power Play number (which was 2) their win was multiplied by that amount.

UK Lotto Jackpot
A UK Lotto Jackpot of £2,607,873 was won on Saturday 31 May by a chef from Worcester. Herbert Plant, who is 49, matched the numbers 15, 20, 22, 34, 37 and 39 thanks to his habit of always playing a Lucky Dip entry.

Ticket Sales Rise
Sales of UK National Lottery tickets have risen by £54.9 million in the twelve months to 31 March, 2008, according to lottery organisers Camelot. The total value of tickets sold in 2007/08 was £4,966.3 million. Donations to Good Causes also increased by £16.3 million, bringing the total raised since 1994 to over £21 billion.

NSW Late Claim
A New South Wales lottery winner has come forward to collect his $1.5 million prize almost five months after his numbers came up on Saturday 29 December, 2007. The man, who requested to remain anonymous, didn’t explain why he took so long to come forward, but simply said that the win wouldn’t change his lifestyle.
