Syndicate Wins Slice Of Euro Pie

A syndicate of 33 workers at a pie factory in Market Drayton, Shropshire, is celebrating after winning a share of the £120 million Euromillions jackpot fund on Friday 17 November.

That particular draw was the twelfth since the previous jackpot winner, and because nobody managed to match five main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers, the jackpot fund was shared between those who were able to match five main numbers and one Lucky Star, according to Euromillions rules. The syndicate of 33 succeeded in doing that, and won £6.75 million as a result.

Each of the 33 syndicate members will take home £204,553, which is sure to put a festive smile of their faces. Even better for two of the syndicate members is the fact that they are married, giving them twice as many reasons to be merry in the run-up to Christmas.

The shopping lists have already been started, with holidays, cars and home purchases the most common items included, but so far none of the syndicate members have said that they want to stop working at the Shropshire pie factory

The £120 million Euromillions jackpot fund was shared between 20 tickets winning a second-tier prize. 7 were from the UK, 4 from France, 3 from Spain, 3 from Portugal, 2 from Ireland and 1 from Belgium. So far just one other UK prize winner has been named as factory foreman Dean Hardman from Greater Manchester.
