Josie and Mick Timmins from Dudley are celebrating
after they themselves scored a share of the
9 September Lotto jackpot worth £2,010,267.
Josie and Mick are both ardent West Bromwich
Albion fans, so it's not surprising that West
Brom season tickets top their list of likely
purchases, followed closely by a new house and
a luxury holiday in Mexico.
Josie works as a part time hairdresser, and
she explained why West Brom top their list of
priorities. "The whole family has always
supported the Baggies," she says, "but
we have never been able to afford season tickets
before. Now with our Lotto win, they will be
the first thing we splash out on."
A mother of two young men (Lee is 20 and Michael
is 16), Josie didn't realise that she had won
the share of the money until Sunday morning.
"I was checking the numbers on Teletext
and was crossing them off on the ticket,"
she explains.
"I was saying to myself, 'I've got that
one and that one, great I've got four.' Then
I realised I had all six! I had to wait until
Mick got back from walking the dog before I
could actually confirm I wasn't dreaming.
"Once Mick had checked the ticket, we
went over to my mum's where she looked at the
ticket again and that's when it really started
to sink in. I ran all over the house shouting,
'I've won, I've won' - I couldn't believe it.
We've only celebrated with a cup of tea with
a tot of whisky in it but we definitely plan
to have a family party once things have calmed
down."
Mick, a Health and Safety Manager, elaborates
on a few other things the couple have put on
their "must have" list. "We definitely
will buy a new house and I collect Koi Carp
so I'd love to have a bigger pond," he
says. "Josie loves handbags, so I'm sure
she will be treating herself to a few! This
win means everything to us - it's a fantastic
feeling to know we can now secure ours and our
sons' futures."
