The world of electrical retailing in Essex
has recently received a jolt of good fortune!
Ten Currys employees have switched on to celebration
mode after their lottery syndicate matched five
numbers and the bonus ball to win £84,643.
All ten members work at the Chelmer Retail
Park branch of the popular electrical chain,
but the winning discovery itself was made in
the home of syndicate organiser Christine Bridge.
"When I first saw the results I thought
we'd managed to match four numbers," Christine
said. "I then had a call from one of my
colleagues who was sure we had five so I went
back and checked again. I was shocked when I
discovered we'd matched five numbers plus the
bonus ball. It was a fantastic feeling, even
better though, was telling everyone the good
news."
The syndicate plays the same numbers each week
and had previously matched four numbers several
times. However, Christine had a hunch that there
were even better things to come.
"I've just had the feeling our winning numbers would come up sooner or later," she explained.
"We have been close but this is fantastic."
The ten syndicate members have dreamed up a
variety of ways to spend their share of the
lotto windfall. Some plan to buy new cars and
make home improvements, others intend to take
memorable trips to New York, Crete and Malta
and one member wants to take a flight in a hot-air
balloon!
Maybe they've already got used to the feeling
of flying high!
