Hartlepool Lotto Celebration

Last Updated: Thursday 22nd November 2018, 14:56

Lottery Syndicate A syndicate of Hartlepool Borough Council tradesmen is toasting a win of £104,281 after matching five main numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw of Wednesday 5 November, 2008. The lottery syndicate has nineteen members, so each member is now £5,488 richer – not a fortune but certainly enough to ensure a treat-filled festive season.

The leader of the syndicate is Tom Storer, a 54 year old Council Technical Manager. Describing how he found out about their success, he said: “I was at home when I discovered we had won. I checked the numbers on Teletext and was over the moon to discover we had matched five numbers plus the bonus ball. I couldn’t wait to pass on the good news to the lads the next day. The timing of the win is just perfect for the team and the best possible Christmas present for all of our families.”

The council syndicate was formed a decade ago, and this isn’t the first time that it has tasted lottery success. Three years ago the syndicate checked the lottery results and discovered that it had matched five main numbers in the UK Lotto draw, winning a nice prize but nothing on the scale of the most recent win.

“Our wins just keep getting bigger so we’re hoping our lucky streak continues and we hit the jackpot next time!” Tom said.
