A EuroMillions Superdraw with a jackpot of €130 Million (around £104 million) will be held on Friday 26 September, 2008. As with all superdraws, no rollover will be allowed, so the jackpot is guaranteed to be paid out in one way or another.
Most players will be hoping that the EuroMillions Superdraw jackpot will be won outright by someone matching five main numbers and both Lucky Star numbers. However, even if that doesn’t happen, the €130 million will roll down to players matching five main numbers and just one Lucky Star. Should no winners be found at that level, the jackpot will continue rolling down until winners are found.
In February of this year a EuroMillions fourth birthday superdraw took place. On that occasion 16 second-tier winners matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star won £6,462,181 each. Prior to that, in September 2007, another EuroMillions Superdraw jackpot was also rolled down to 14 second-tier winner who collected £6,989,367 each.
EuroMillions superdraws are always very popular. The fact that someone who misses the jackpot by one Lucky Star is still in with a chance of winning millions (as long as nobody matches five numbers and both Lucky Stars) makes these events tremendously exciting. And of course, every ticket has a 1 in 76,275,360 chance of winning the jackpot outright.
This begs the question, what would you do with €130 million? The usual responses about buying a new house, a few new cars and travelling the world would all be relevant here, but even if you spent £5 million on all of those things, you would still have around £99 million left over. Clearly, figuring out how to spend such a huge amount will take the lucky winner quite some time!
With the EuroMillions Superdraw offering so much money to anyone who can match all seven numbers, many players will be thinking about buying a few extra tickets than usual.
