All around the world we have some pretty varied and massive lottery jackpots over the last few weeks. Figures fly round in the tens of millions but what does that money actually mean? What will a lotto win buy you in today’s world and where do you come in on the rich list?
It’s hard to know where to start but with the events of this weekends Euromillions Lottery jackpot to consider let’s look back at the £45 million won by Les Scadding and his wife late last year. That amount of cash immediately proects you onto the Times Rich list, somewhere between Chris Evans and Jamie Oliver. Mr Scadding and his wife were said to be looking at a mansion previously owned by Robert Plant showing that £45 million really does open a lot of doors.
What about a more modest lottery win? Imagine, maybe a Wednesday night jackpot, say £2 million. Well you could buy a Bugatti Veyron, coming in at around £1.5 million, you’ll even have change. For the more practical among us, a two bedroom property in Kensington would set you back around the whole of your win.
