Euromillions rule changes affects play

Last Updated: Tuesday 31st May 2011, 15:00

Lottery Tickets PenIt’s just a few weeks now until the change to the Euromillions rules, and the new changes mean that the play in advance rules have been adjusted slightly. On May 7th, brand new Euromillions Lottery tickets will be printed, incorporating the new rules and it means if you play the lottery for up to four weeks in advance, you won’t be able to do that right now with the Euromillions Lottery.

Thankfully, the ‘play in advance’ rule change is only a temporary one, here’s how you may be affected.

From today, you can only play the Euromillions in advance for up to four weeks, taking you up to the changes to the Euromillions Lottery on May 7th. Of course, as the weeks until the new draw count down, the amount of weeks you will be able to play in advance will reduce too.

Once the new draw kicks in, and lottery tickets go on sale on Saturday 7th May, you will again be able to play, as usual for up to four weeks in advance, which will then become eight draws, as the Euromillions becomes a twice weekly lottery!

If you have any holidays booked in the next few weeks, or you usually buy your Euromillions tickets weeks in advance then these changes affect you. Do make sure you keep a note of when the new draw begins and make sure you buy your Euromillions tickets in plenty of time for the draw. If you’re buying lottery tickets for next Friday’s Euromillions Lottery draw, then don’t forget it’s a rollover, with an estimated jackpot of £25 million!
