Euromillions Rolls Past £50 Million

Last Updated: Saturday 22nd October 2011, 20:58

EuromillionsThe Euromillions results for draw number 407 are in, and with £47 million up for grabs, lottery players have been keen to check their tickets. However, despite bumper ticket sales and a real sense of lottery fever, no one matched all the winning numbers and now the Euromillions rolls past the £50 million milestone, making Friday’s jackpot worth an estimated £57 million to UK lottery players.

The numbers drawn in last night’s Euromillions draw were 1, 13, 17, 18 and 45, lucky stars 3 and 8, but not one single player matched all the winning numbers. The Millionaire Raffle number is LJJ683472 and this number will be responsible for the biggest UK Euromillions winner last night.

Generally, players didn’t fare so well in last night’s draw, although one French Euromillions player did match the 5+1 prize, being the only winner, this player becomes and instant millionaire. The highest main draw UK winner was one of the seven players who matched just five main balls and that player will collect £32,997.

On a good week, over £3 million can land in the UK from the main Euromillions draw, but last night, just £1.6 million was paid out in prizes. This continued across Europe where prize winners were generally low.

There is always a silver lining though, and the silver lining this week is Friday’s £57 million rollover draw. We haven’t seen Euromillions excitement like this since the Weirs won £161 million after fourteen rollovers. This Euromillions jackpot hasn’t climbed quite so far, but we’ll be watching with interest now, as will the UK and the rest of Europe.
