We’re quite fond of feel-good lottery stories and they don’t come much more feel-good than a lotto win in the nick of time for one family who were about to lose their home. Joe Hollick was facing the prospect of seeing his mum lose her home, and they were even all packed and ready to go, but now a scratchcard win worth £250,000 has landed in their laps and saved the day!
Joe Hollick won £4 on a National Lottery scratchcard, and bought a £2 ticket and took £2, ensuring he would break even. When he started scratching the ticket he could instantly see that he had won, and was fully expecting another small prize, imagine his surprise when he realised he had won the £250,000 top prize!
The 17 year old was playing the National Lottery Turquoise game and the win, now means he has saved his mum from losing her home. The lucky lottery scratchcard winner can now afford to pay off her mortgage arrears, something that has left the entire family celebrating.
Joe’s mum, Alison couldn’t be prouder of her son, who was back in his £8,000 a year trainee chef’s job the very next day. He has no intention of quitting his training and will be treating his lottery win as a little nest egg for the future.
