No millionaires again for UK Lotto

The big draw of the week in the UK has been the Euromillions Lottery draw, and with £121 million up for grabs it pretty much overshadowed the UK Lotto draws on either side of it. However, the UK Lotto draws didn’t take much overshadowing, as it’s been all shares. No millionaires were created in the midweek Lotto and now at the weekend it’s no millionaires again!
Wednesday night’s jackpot winners collected a little over £700,000 each, and so the Lotto organisers were hoping for a bigger win last night. The jackpot reached £3.9 million, way down on estimate, possibly caused by the rush on sales of Euromillions tickets, and with four winners matching all the winning numbers, that meant less than £1 million each for the winners.
The jackpot prize paid each winner from last night’s Lotto draw £988,373, not quite a million, but still a life-changing amount of cash. Second tier winners collect just £46,786 for matching five main balls and the bonus, as a huge amount of players (26) match the second tier prize.
In all, over £14 million was paid out to lottery players in last night’s draw, a fair sum even if no millionaires were created and no doubt there are lots of happy winners around this morning.
With all the weekend lottery jackpots won, it means that this week all draws are back to base on jackpots. On Wednesday you can play for an estimated £2.4 million on the UK Lotto and Friday’s Euromillions is worth an estimated £13 million. Good luck if you’re buying lottery tickets!
