Hidden under L for Lottery

Last Updated: Thursday 24th September 2020, 12:39

This week, the National Lottery boss Dianne Thompson has been talking to the press about what it’s like to hold one of the most important jobs in the country. She spoke about how lottery winners hide lottery tickets in the dictionary under L for Lottery and how much she loves to hear winners’ stories and the way the Lotto brings so much joy to many. Miss Thompson has been CEO of the National Lottery since 2000, and like you might expect, she loves her job.

In her interview, given to the Daily Mail this week, she talks about the pride she feels when she thinks about the £26 billion that has been given to good causes over the years. She also talks about the Olympics, London 2012 and what a difference National Lottery funding is going to make to that too.

According to National Lottery statistics, over 70% of the UK public regularly buy lottery tickets, but when they win, Miss Thompson says only 20% go public. It always seems like a lot of lottery stories we bring you in the news each week, but it seems that is barely scratching the surface.

Dianne Thompson is without a doubt one of the best known businesswomen in the UK, and possibly the world and she has taken the company who run the National Lottery from strength to strength with her own formidable style. She may only be 4 ‘ 11”, but Dianne Thompson is one big personality!
