Single player is New Year Lotto winner

Last Updated: Thursday 22nd November 2018, 14:45

Lottery Tickets CashOne single lottery player became the first millionaire of 2011 last night by matching all six numbers in the New Year’s Lotto rollover draw. With all the jackpot going to a single player, that’s £7.2 million going to the lucky ticketholder, setting the scene for the following year. If you haven’t checked your numbers yet then do so on our lottery results page and find out if you are the lucky £7.2 million lottery rollover winner.

In the draw last night, the first one of 2011, Guinevere was chosen as the lottery machine. That machine hasn’t been seen since 18th December when it secured a £4.5 million jackpot between as many as five lottery winners. It was no share for the winner though who scooped the entire jackpot to themselves for the New Year draw.

Just last year, the National Lottery created 158 millionaires in the UK and now this latest lottery winner will be starting off the 2011 list of UK Lotto millionaires. If you’ve made it your New Year’s resolution to win the lottery then you have plenty of time to do so and you can start by buying lottery tickets for the Wednesday Lotto draw in a few days. The estimated jackpot for that draw is £2.4 million and if the lottery sees as many winners and shared jackpots as last year, they could even be smashing that 158 record.
