First Jackpot Win of the 2012 in the Irish Lottery

Irish LotteryOn Wednesday night the first draw of the week took place for the Irish Lottery and many players were hoping to walk away with the top prize on offer. The results from this mid-week draw show that in fact a single ticket holder matched all six of the numbers drawn to become the first jackpot winner of 2012 in the Irish Lottery, scooping just over €5.4 million. This top prize had rolled over a total of six times before it was finally won in Wednesday’s draw.

Although the identity of this jackpot winner is yet to be known, it is thought that the ticket was bought in the North –West area. In addition to the top prize winner, there were two ticket holders who matched five numbers along with the Bonus Ball to win the second tier prize (which is guaranteed in every draw) that is worth €25,000. To add to that almost 2,000 players matched four numbers to win €48, then then over 31,000 players won the smallest Irish Lottery prize that is worth €5, by matched just three of the numbers drawn.

The results from this draw (Wednesday 25th January) in case you haven’t seen them already were 11, 13, 14, 15, 37 and the Bonus Ball was 30. Out of the numbers selected in this draw, you will see that were three consecutive numbers drawn 13, 14 and 15. Having a triplet this like appear in the Irish Lottery results doesn't have very often, and this particular triplet has only every been drawn out five times in the history of the Irish Lottery.

This jackpot win means that the Irish Lottery goes back to basics and it now worth an estimated €2 million for tomorrow night’s draw.
