Winning the Lotto Jackpot is in the Family

Last Updated: Monday 3rd December 2012, 10:33

LottoLast weekend saw the first ever Lotto quadruple rollover jackpot be on offer to win and in this draw five ticket holders all matched the six numbers drawn to share the £19.5 million jackpot. Now one of these tickets has come forward to claim their Lotto jackpot and it seems like winning the Lotto jackpot is in the family as this winning ticket was purchased by a father and daughter from Tipton, West Midlands.

This Lotto winning pair has been playing this National Lottery since it first launched in 1994 and have won the occasional £10 however this is the first time they have won big. Irene Harper, 60 and her father Thomas Foden, 80 matched the numbers drawn in the Saturday night Lotto results to win a share of the Lotto jackpot meaning that they scooped just over £3.9 million.

This Lotto jackpot win came at the right time for Irene as she was celebrating her 39th wedding anniversary on the day she found out about the jackpot win and then also celebrated her 60th birthday the following day.
They came forward to collect their win at a press conference at The Mount Hall in Tettenhall and are yet to decide what to do with their winnings. They want to move but it is still early days yet however Mr Foden wants to give his grandchildren a good life.

If all this talk of winning has got you excited then turn your attention to the Lotto draw tomorrow night in which there is a jackpot that is estimated at £4 million on offer to win, and who knows you could strike lucky just like this Lotto winning pair and scoop the jackpot!
