UK Lotto Game-Changer Has Lottery Fans Flocking To Play

Last Updated: Thursday 5th December 2013, 13:19

Lottery players will be making a special effort to tune into tomorrow’s live UK Lotto show as it’s the first draw under the newest changes to the game, with a £10 million jackpot at stake along with 1,000 guaranteed winners of £20,000. These sets of prizes will also be on offer for the draw on Saturday 12th October.

The new format sees bigger top prizes being offered, as well as changes in the lower prize tiers such as winning £25 for matching three numbers, an increase from £10. Starting jackpots increase to £5 million on Saturdays and £2.5 million on Wednesdays, while tickets also include an entry into the Lotto Raffle draw. This brand new game will see at least 50 winners win £20,000, and each time the jackpot isn’t won, the number of Raffle prizes increases by 50 for each successive rollover draw, up to a maximum of 250 winners!

Tomorrow’s inflated £10 million jackpot and 1,000 prizes of £20,000 are sure to have lottery retailers busy selling tickets right up to the sales deadline as customers queue to get in on the action.

Players might have seen the changes as controversial as they include a price increase from £1 to £2 per play, but lottery organisers say they are reinvigorating the game which has been largely unchanged since 1994. Players who are unhappy about the ticket price increase can take comfort in the better prizes on offer and the fact that this is the first price increase in 19 years!

It’s all too easy to overlook the fact that the National Lottery has been around for so long and that six little balls have created 3,400 millionaires while, at the same time, raising over £30 billion for 400,000 good causes and charities. UK Lotto has become such a part of many people’s lives that, according to lottery organisers Camelot, around half the country’s population have a flutter on the lottery at least once a month.

The team at National-Lottery.com agree that a couple of quid is still a small price to pay for the thrill of choosing your lucky numbers and waiting with bated breath for the results to be called out in the hope that, one day, it really could be them!

Whatever the odds, one thing is certain – if you’re not in it, you’ll never win it! There's still time to buy your tickets for this historic draw, simply head over to the Buy Tickets page. Good luck!
