Record Breaking Ticket Sales for Revamped UK Lotto

Last Updated: Tuesday 2nd July 2019, 10:37

The first draw of the revamped UK Lotto game on Saturday 5th October 2013 saw record breaking ticket sales, despite concerns that the price increase could deter players from participating in the national lottery game. Over £47 million worth of tickets were sold across the UK for the launch draw, making Saturday the highest grossing draw so far this year. Better yet, one player scooped the guaranteed £10 million jackpot!

If you have not yet checked your UK Lotto numbers from Saturday night, you can do so by visiting the UK Lotto Results page. Along with the single jackpot winning ticket, there were 11 ticket holders who matched five of the main numbers and the Bonus ball to win £43,059 each. A further 397 players matched five main numbers to win £1,012 each while 23,574 players won £90 each by matching four main numbers. Finally, a massive 441,686 tickets successfully matched three numbers to win the increased set prize of £25.

Saturday’s draw also saw the introduction of the new Lotto Raffle which will be played alongside every UK Lotto game from now on. To celebrate the new game, 1,000 raffle codes were picked at random and each winner received an amazing prize of £20,000!

Early indications show that the majority of winning UK Lotto Raffle tickets were sold in the Greater London area (250), followed by the North West and Cumbria region (139). You can check your raffle codes quickly and easily by using the search facility on the UK Lotto results page, so check now to see if you are a winner!

If you weren’t lucky last Saturday, the great news is that you have another chance to play for a £10 million jackpot and 1,000 x £20,000 Lotto Raffle prizes next Saturday! Plus, between now and then, there is still the midweek Lotto draw which has an estimated jackpot of £2.5 million.

To buy your tickets for the UK Lotto or Thunderball and Hot Picks draws, both of which are still only £1, visit the Lottery Tickets page today!
