Wedding Bells for £6.6m Lotto Winner

Last Updated: Thursday 5th December 2013, 13:19

lottoLast Saturday’s Lotto draw had a single Match 6 winner who scooped the jackpot prize of just over £6.6 million and now wedding bells are in the air as the winner celebrated his life-changing win by getting engaged.

Graham Nield, from Batley, found out on Sunday that he’d won and immediately asked his partner to marry him. Luckily for Mr Neild his partner, Amanda Vickers, replied “Yes, but it isn’t because you’ve won the money, it’s because I love you.”

Winning the Lotto jackpot last weekend gave Mr Nield the courage to finally pop the question as he had planned to ask his partner previously but kept losing his nerve. On a recent holiday to Tenerife he wanted to ask Ms Vickers every morning at breakfast but the words wouldn’t come out. However, after checking his ticket and finding he had matched all six numbers, he decided the moment was right and blurted out “Now will you marry me?”

The couple, who have five children from previous relationships and 13 grandchildren, are planning a simple ceremony followed by a big party for friends and family.

Congratulations to this lucky couple from the team here at National-Lottery.com – we hope you enjoy your winnings and future life together!

For you chance to join this jackpot winner, Saturday’s Lotto top prize is worth £3.6 million and tickets can either be purchased from an authorised retailer or online via the Lottery Tickets page. Good luck!
