Last Updated: Thursday 5th December 2013, 13:19

LottoThe Lotto has created an impressive amount of winners in the past year and now lottery organisers have revealed a bit more information about these winners. The lucky Lotto winners of 2012 comes to a total of 323 millionaires who have won over £850 million combined. This amount of winners surpasses the 2011 total which was 229 so it will be interesting to see if 2013 (13 being an unlucky number for some) will go even higher than last year’s amount. The 323 millionaires are made up of various professions so let’s take a look and see which professions topped the list.

The most popular careers in the list include builders, care workers and administrators while the ones at the bottom of the list include estate agents, advertising workers and market traders.

From the list it also seems that men were luckier than women at picking the winning Lotto numbers as only 40% of women claimed the big jackpot wins. To add to that the most luckiest star sign was Capricorn as this star sign managed to win more Lotto prizes than any other sign star.

2012 was a big year for lotteries as the UK EuroMillions special Olympic Millionaire Raffle draw took place which saw a whopping 100 players all win £1 million in one night. This draw celebrated the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics and set a new world record for the most amount of millionaires created in a single draw, therefore we will have to wait and see if lottery officials have got anything special planned for lotteries this year.

The first Lotto draw of the year takes place tonight in which the jackpot is estimated at £2.1 million therefore if you fancy becoming the first jackpot winner of 2013 make sure you have your tickets ready.
