A lucky delivery driver from Charlton is changing course after scooping a £500,000 Thunderball win. John Selby, 59, bought the life-changing ticket for the draw on Saturday 2nd August at Diggens and Martens in Blackheath.
When he realised that his ticket matched all five main numbers plus the Thunderball, John rushed to tell his partner Elaine, who brushed him off and went to bed. She checked the ticket the next morning while John was sleeping and burst into their bedroom yelling and shouting! The happy couple now have the £500,000 prize in the bank and are already planning on how to use it.
John has decided to quit his job as a delivery driver so that he can take some time to relax, unwind and figure out what to do next. The newly-minted Thunderball winner is an avid fan of racing and is thinking of using some of the prize money to buy a couple of racehorses. Elaine will finally get to own a caravan on the Isle of Sheppey so that the whole family can indulge in a seaside holiday now and then.
Thunderball is a fun lottery game that offers players fixed prizes for matching some or all of the numbers drawn. The next draw will take place on Wednesday 13th August and at a cost of just £1 per play, it’s well worth a punt! You can buy tickets for Thunderball via the Lottery Tickets tab or from your local lottery retailer. Good luck!
