Missing Millionaire has just Nine Days to Claim

Last Updated: Wednesday 13th August 2014, 16:11

The dreaded deadline is creeping ever closer for one UK EuroMillions winner as they have just nine days left to claim their £1 million prize. The seven figure sum was won on New Year’s Eve in the special UK Millionaire Raffle draw which saw an impressive 25 prizes, worth £1 million each, up for grabs.

The missing winner purchased their ticket in the Warwick area and matched one of the 25 unique nine-digit codes drawn to secure themselves one of the £1 million prizes. All of the other 24 prizes have now been claimed leaving the unknown winner with the only outstanding ticket. Click here to view a list of all 25 winning codes from the draw.

If the ticket holder does not come forward before 23:00 BST on Sunday 29th June the £1 million prize, along with the interest it has accumulated, will be added to the National Lottery’s Good Causes fund. The Good Causes fund receives 28p from every £1 spent on lottery tickets, as well as the proceeds from all unclaimed prizes, which it then channels into charitable schemes and projects aimed at improving communities across the UK.

The National Lottery Good Causes fund donates more than £33 million every week to worthy causes across the UK and, since its creation in 1994, has contributed in excess of £31 billion to UK projects. One of the most recent beneficiaries is the ‘A Better Start’ initiative which focuses on providing the best possible start to life for children under the age of three.

Funding for A Better Start kicked off with a £215 million grant from the National Lottery and aims to improve the lives of at least 60,000 underprivileged children by changing the way agencies and services communicate with families and by providing a reliable support system for those in need.

If you’d like to contribute to one of the hundreds of thousands of good causes supported by the National Lottery, just buy a ticket. Not only will you be donating to charity but you’ll also get the chance to change your own life! Tickets can be purchased online via the Lottery Tickets tab or in person from an authorised retailer.
