Grangemouth Players Strike it Lucky in Postcode Millions Draw

Players in Grangemouth are celebrating this week after striking it lucky in the People’s Postcode Lottery. This special charity lottery holds a number of different draws, giving ticket holders the chance to land prizes every day, but the biggest rewards are available in the Postcode Millions game, which is held at the end of each month.
Tickets for every People’s Postcode Lottery game are based on - you guessed it - your postcode, and the latest Postcode Millions draw on Sunday matched up with FK3 9AY in the Scottish town of Grangemouth. Participants who had the full postcode drawn split £1 million, with seven ticket holders each bagging £111,111. Helen Tonner (known as Eileen), scooped £222,222 after entering two tickets. On receiving her cheque, she said: “ It’s not quite real. Everyone who lives here is so lovely - we’ll be having a postcode street party tonight!”
Neighbour Lorraine Hamilton has set her sights on a designer handbag, while other winners are planning to spend their money in a number of different ways, including one resident who plans to take her daughter on a girls’ trip to New York and another who is looking to make some improvements to her house and garden.
There is a prize pot of £2 million in each Postcode Millions draw and any player living in sector FK3 9 also got to enjoy a share of the money paid out over the weekend. There were 192 winning participants in total from Grangemouth, with cash rewards beginning at £613.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt got to present the cheques and wished all the residents well after a wonderful day in Grangemouth. She said: “It was such an amazing atmosphere today in Grangemouth. All the winners knew each other, and the whole street celebrated together. I hope all of the lucky winners enjoy spending their money.”
Another postcode will be selected at random this weekend when the Saturday Street Prize draw takes place, with every winning ticket worth a cool £25,000.
