Hunt for Carmarthenshire Millionaire Maker Winner Continues

Last Updated: Tuesday 3rd July 2018, 11:36

National Lottery officials are urging EuroMillions players from Carmarthenshire to check their tickets as both a prize of £1 million and a holiday of a lifetime to Australia’s Gold Coast are still waiting to be claimed. The reward was initially offered on Friday 29th July, and the missing winner’s ticket will have the code BRR 888846 printed on it as part of that month’s Mega Friday event.

The unclaimed windfall is currently one of four EuroMillions prizes of £1 million yet to be united with their owners, three of those being Mega Friday prizes. Speaking to the South Wales Evening Post, a spokesperson for the National Lottery said: "We're urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding, so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club.”

Under National Lottery rules, all prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the draw, with any unclaimed sums going to help lottery-funded projects across the UK. Regardless of  the good the prize money may do if no one steps forward, National Lottery officials are still eager to find the winner before the deadline of Wednesday 25th January: "We're desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings, this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody's life.” There was even some helpful advice offered to those who might have problems locating their tickets: "Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa.”

Every EuroMillions player in the UK is automatically entered into the UK Millionaire Maker draw, with a unique code being printed on the bottom half of every ticket. Draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays and could see players claim a sizeable sum of money, meaning that it is crucial that all tickets are checked very carefully, even if a prize has not been won in the main draw. As for the winner from Carmarthenshire, National Lottery officials are standing by and more than ready to welcome the winner with open arms: "We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win."

This Friday’s EuroMillions draw is estimated to be worth a massive £20 million, a total that would look resplendent in any bank account. The draw also sees the return of Mega Friday, when five lucky players will win £1 million and a breathtaking Brazilian adventure - just don’t forget to check those tickets! Play online or head to your nearest authorised retailer to purchase your play slip! Best of luck!
