Lotto Jackpot Climbs Ever Higher

Last Updated: Wednesday 30th March 2016, 09:23

Lotto ticket holders are once again bracing themselves for a gigantic jackpot after the top prize was unclaimed on Saturday evening. The jackpot is currently worth an estimated £29.8 million, a total that would prove life-changing for any potential winner.

Lotto fans are becoming accustomed to larger jackpots in 2016 and a winner this evening would become the fourth winner of the jackpot since the start of the year, yet only the third highest winner following previous wins of £32.5 million in February and a record breaking £66 million in January, spilt between two tickets. By the same time last year, a total of 16 top prizes had been claimed, but with the highest of these being just over £14.1 million, the prize pot was given little time to generate excitement amongst players.

Saturday evening saw the top prize roll over for a tenth time to spark elation across the country, as players desperately attempt to select those all important lucky numbers. With the draw on Wednesday 23rd March producing 4,082 winners in the Match 5 prize tier, a freak occurrence that secured each player just £15, some Lotto fans may be opting for a different strategy when it comes to selecting their numbers. If you’re stuck for ideas, head to the Lotto Number Generator page - who knows, a new set of numbers may just help you win big tonight!

So, if you’d like to be in with a chance of winning this evening's colossal jackpot, simply purchase your Lotto tickets online or from any authorised retailer before 7.30pm. Best of luck!
