Big Share on UK Lotto Rollover

Last Updated: Wednesday 12th September 2018, 11:59

It was an exciting night and many players were vying to be the next UK Lotto multi-millionaire after a rollover pushed the jackpot up to £7 million. But in the event any player who matched all six winning numbers would have a lot less than they’d imagined as the jackpot was shared by no less then five winning ticket holders.

No details have emerged about the winners yet, it’s possible that they don’t yet know how lucky they are. No doubt players who missed the draw last night will be frantically checking the lottery results now to see if they are one of the lucky winners.

It does mean that a massive seven UK Lottery players have become millionaires this weekend, the biggest of those being £26 million on the half share of the Euromillions Rollover on Friday and of course the instant millionaire created on the Millionaire Raffle. Add that to the five players who scooped £1.1 million each on last night’s UK Lotto draw and that’s seven lucky lottery winners.

That makes it a pretty eventful and lucky weekend for UK players, despite the estimated UK Lotto jackpot coming in at £1 million less than estimated. It does pose the question about whether the lotto is losing it’s edge though, when even a lottery rollover isn’t enough to push the jackpot up to an estimated amount.

It would seem that UK Lottery players are getting accustomed to the big jackpots available on the Euromillions Lottery and it’s taking more than a couple of million to get players excited.
