Entries open for the National Lottery awards

Last Updated: Thursday 24th September 2020, 12:43

It’s a new year and that means that entries are open for the National Lottery Awards 2011, it’s time to vote for your favourite lottery funded project to receive a £2,000 lottery grant. Every single week in the UK, lottery players raise a staggering £28 million for good causes and the annual National Lottery Awards are a great way to celebrate that and highlight the work that the National Lottery does.

It’s eight years since the National Lottery Awards first launched and it gives lottery players the chance to decide where lottery funding goes. It’s the perfect chance to have your say, maybe vote for a local project and be involved in lottery good causes.

Since the National Lottery launched back in November 1994, over 350,000 lottery grants have been issued across the UK within all the National Lottery categories and it’s all thanks to the lottery tickets that you buy. Every time you buy a lottery ticket, more than a quarter of the value goes directly to good causes, giving you a nice warm feeling every time you buy lottery tickets.

The featured project will be featured at the National Lottery Awards, broadcast on BBC1 and there is a massive £2,000 cash prize for the winning project. There are projects in seven categories, reflecting the donations that the National Lottery give across all of the good causes and if you wish to vote then you can do so until Friday 18th February at the National Lottery Awards website.
