With a big rollover jackpot, lottery sales were high for last night’s Euromillions draw. Lottery officials had estimated around €24 million for the jackpot, but lottery sales were so high that a staggering €27 million was actually on offer. In the event, despite players from all nine countries buying lottery tickets for the draw, France picks up the Euromillions Lottery, as one winner scoops the lot!
The entire Euromillions jackpot may have gone to France but UK players also did very well in the draw. In total almost £4 million was paid out to UK lottery players in the main draw alone, plus of course the £1 million Millionaire Raffle prize.
Players matching five main balls and a lucky star collected the second tier prize of £163,385. Of the eight players matching this prize, three were from the UK. Another thirteen players collected £33,514, four of those players were from the UK.
So while UK lottery players may not have scooped the jackpot, they did fare very well in the draw, with almost £4 million paid out in prize money in the UK alone.
If you’re in the UK and you missed out on last night’s Euromillions jackpot then don’t worry as on Tuesday you get the chance to do it all over again. Tuesday’s Euromillions jackpot will now be reset to £13 million but before then there’s the UK Lotto draw. The UK Lotto draw takes place this evening, and if you’re feeling lucky the estimated jackpot for that draw is £4.4 million!
