Lotto Player Wins £11.2 Million Jackpot

Last Updated: Monday 18th July 2016, 11:51 am

A Lotto player is £11.2 million richer after hitting the jackpot on Saturday 16th July. The winner matched the numbers 10, 14, 17, 32, 36 and 50 to scoop the life-changing prize, which was the result of three rollovers since another ticket holder banked £14.6 million on 2nd July. Both July jackpots have been pocketed on Saturdays, following a run of five Wednesday wins.

Other prizes in the main draw on Saturday ranged from a free Lotto Lucky Dip for matching two main numbers to £1,364 for matching five main balls. Lotto Millionaire Raffle dispensed £1 million to the owner of the ticket bearing the code GREY 7731 2584, as well as distributing 20 awards of £20,000 to other players. You can find a full prize breakdown at the Lotto Results section of National-Lottery.com.

Saturday’s Lotto winner now has to decide whether to reveal their identity to the public as they spray champagne and pose with an oversized cheque at a local stately home or football ground, or opt to stay private instead. By going public they will not have to worry about hiding their newfound wealth from their nearest and dearest, but remaining anonymous means they would be less likely to find distant relatives angling for a slice of their eight-figure fortune. Whatever they decide to do, they will receive the same support and guidance from the National Lottery, including access to financial experts.

Although rumours persist that players who accept publicity receive more money than those who choose to stay anonymous, lottery bosses insist this has never been the case. To find out more about the pros and cons of meeting the press after a big win and to see what the players who have scooped the largest prizes have done in the past, visit the Lottery Publicity page.

Wednesday’s Lotto jackpot is worth £2 million and there is another £1 million to be won in Lotto Millionaire Raffle. You can buy Lotto tickets online or from authorised retailers across the UK up until 7:30pm on the day of the draw. Good luck!
