Last Updated: Monday 20th November 2017, 09:15
One lucky ticket holder certainly had plenty to smile about on Saturday evening after winning a Lotto jackpot worth £18.1 million. The player, who is yet to make themselves known to National Lottery officials, correctly matched the numbers 1, 20, 24, 36, 54 and 58 to land the huge eight-figure sum and end a run of seven consecutive rollovers.
There is little doubt that 2017 has been a bumper year for Lotto lovers, with a total of 15 jackpots being shared between 19 winners. Throw into the mix two top prizes that have eclipsed the game’s £22 million jackpot cap, and it’s clear to see why players are so eager to take part in a lottery game that recently celebrated its 23rd anniversary. This latest win is the first time the jackpot has been claimed since Saturday 21st October, when an anonymous entrant claimed £3.5 million.
Saturday’s Lotto Draw
It wasn’t just the fortuitous jackpot winner who was left rubbing their hands with glee. There were two players who correctly matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball (11) to scoop £40,351 apiece, while 54 participants each celebrated winning £1,573 after matching five main numbers.
In total, 1,064,041 players collected rewards, with the remaining prizes ranging from a free Lucky Dip ticket for matching four numbers to £154 for predicting the outcome of four main numbers.
However, the excitement didn’t end there, as one player prospered in the Lotto Millionaire Raffle draw to the tune of £1 million after matching the winning code PLUM 0648 0728. There were an additional 20 prizes or £20,000, details of which can be found on the Lotto Results page.
Could You be the Next Lotto Winner?
Following this latest jackpot success, Lotto’s top prize has now reset, but that doesn’t mean you should miss out on claiming an incredible £1.9 million in this Wednesday’s draw. So, for your chance to win big this midweek, play online from anywhere in the world or pick up a ticket from any authorised retailer across the UK. Good luck!
