Tuesday’s EuroMillions Jackpot Worth £143 Million
Last Updated: Wednesday 11th November 2020, 11:48
The EuroMillions jackpot has reached an estimated £143 million ahead of the draw on Tuesday 2nd October following a Superdraw and three rollovers. You would be one of the biggest winners in the lottery’s history if you won the nine-figure jackpot, so find more below ahead of this huge draw.
Superdraw and Rollovers
The EuroMillions jackpot was last won on Tuesday 4th September when an Austrian ticket holder matched all seven main numbers to win a top prize worth €45.4 million. Four successive rollovers then followed before a Superdraw was held on Friday 21st September. The jackpot for this one-off draw was worth £116 million on the night and, although seven ticket holders matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star, no one was able to match all seven numbers so another rollover followed.
There have been a further two rollovers since, on Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th September, resulting in the jackpot for the upcoming draw pushing the £150 million barrier. If the jackpot isn’t won on Tuesday night, the top prize will continue increasing until it has been won or reaches its €190 million (£168 million) jackpot cap.
However, were a single UK ticket holder to win the £143 million on offer, they would become the UK’s third biggest lottery winner in history. Only Adrian and Gillian Bayford, and Chris and Colin Weir, have won more in the history of the lottery in the UK. The Bayfords claimed €190 million in August 2012, which converted to £148 million based on the exchange rate at that time. The Weirs, based in Scotland, won €185 million in July 2011, which worked out at £161 million.
“What a Week for National Lottery Players”
As well as the huge EuroMillions jackpot on offer, the UK Lotto jackpot currently stands at £26.3 million as players also look ahead to Wednesday’s draw with huge excitement. Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s senior winners’ adviser, said: “What a week for National Lottery players – not one but two giant jackpots – which would mean you could start living your life like royalty.
“It would afford anyone the kind of lifestyle that most can only dream of. EuroMillions and Lotto players help raise around £30 million for National Lottery good causes each and every week. This supports projects big and small across the country, including funding everything from local community projects to protecting the nation’s heritage.”
Join a Syndicate Here
If you haven’t already picked your numbers ahead of the EuroMillions draw, you can do so by visiting an authorised ticket retailer or joining an online syndicate via our National Lottery Tickets page. You odds of winning any prize in the draw are 1 in 13, whilst you have a 1 in 139,838,160 chance of landing the £143 million jackpot.
You can increase your chances of winning by taking part as a member of an online syndicate. Syndicates offer better chances of winning at no extra cost compared to entering by yourself. You would have to buy more tickets if you wanted to enter more than one line for the draw but, in a syndicate, all the tickets from the syndicate group are put together to increase your chances of winning, and you share any prizes you win. Best of luck!
