Chicago in sights for Lottery

Last Updated: Wednesday 5th January 2011, 11:09

The organisers of the National Lottery and UK arm of the Euromillions Lottery today, alongside Northstar Lottery Group put forward a case as to why it should become the first private manager of the Illinois Lottery. We brought you a story on our lottery news pages a few weeks ago on how the UK lottery organisers intended branching out on other lottery draws and now they seem to have the Illinois Lottery firmly within their sights.

The presentation for both the finalists came today during a public hearing in Chicago, in one week Gov. Quinn will make a decision on which of the companies should be allowed to manage the lottery, making this a very exciting week for the company.

Much of the feedback for the company, who have run the UK National Lottery for the past sixteen years has been very positive and it’s looking like it may be a one horse race. No assumptions can ever be made of course and we hope to follow this story up at a later date with news of the bid.

As for you, the ticket buyer, you have nothing to worry about. The National Lottery is to remain as it always has and ownership of other lottery draws won’t affect the UK lottery draws. You can just keep buying lottery tickets as usual and keep an eye on the jackpots for both the National Lottery and Euromillions Lottery and of course, make a note of the Euromillions Mega Jackpot on October 1st and its £85 million jackpot.
