Couple Claims £1.1 Million UK Lotto Jackpot

Last Updated: Wednesday 13th August 2014, 16:11

One of the three jackpot winners in Saturday’s UK Lotto has now come forward to claim their share of the £3.5 million prize.

It definitely wasn’t a case of ‘nil point’ for Terry and Linda Vigus, both 58 of Loughton, Essex, who found out they had won the UK lotto jackpot while watching the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday night. The couple, who have been married for 35 years, normally purchase a Lucky Dip but their daughter Lisa recently suggested that they resume selecting numbers based on family birthdays, as they had done in the past.

Following this change to their routine, the couple’s luck changed and their new number combination matched all six main numbers drawn in Saturday’s Lotto draw to instantly make them £1,171,812 richer. Not only has their win left the couple understandably shocked, it has also left Terry rather spooked as he recently dreamt about winning the lottery.

The lucky couple now plan to purchase the house they have lived in for the past 23 years, buy a luxury motorhome and pay-off their daughter’s mortgage.

National-Lottery.com would like to congratulate Terry and Linda on their win and wish them all the best for the future.

The other two top tier winners have yet to claim their share of the £3.5 million jackpot so if you have a UK Lotto ticket from Saturday’s draw, now is the time to check your numbers as you could be one of the missing jackpot winners. The winning numbers from the UK Lotto draw on Saturday 10th May were 3, 5, 8, 10, 16 and 17 with the Bonus Ball 46.
