Eight Jackpot Wins in a Row for the UK Lotto

Last Updated: Friday 30th March 2012, 15:59

You may have noticed the winning streak that has developed in the UK Lotto over the past few weeks. For every draw since the 7th January at least one ticket (sometimes more) has matched all six of the numbers drawn to win the top prize. This happened again in Wednesday’s draw meaning that it is now eight jackpot wins in a row for the UK Lotto. Therefore the question is, can any players win the jackpot tomorrow night to make it nine wins in a row, or will the top prize start to rollover?

It is interesting to see the UK Lotto jackpot be won consecutive like this. Normally either two or three wins happen sequentially, however for the total amount of wins to surpass five in a row is something of a rarity.

It is also an interesting fact that they only two draw machines have been used in this winning streak and these are Merlin and Lancelot. Out of all eight of the consecutive wins four have happened whilst Merlin was the draw machine and the other four have happened when Lancelot was the chosen draw machine. What the particular machine will be for the draw is selected on the day of the draw, therefore it is fascinating to see how both Merlin and Lancelot have both been used in this winning streak.

As already stated, Wednesday’s jackpot was won by one lucky ticket holder who scooped the top prize that was worth £2,194,776. This win means that the jackpot resets again and goes back to basics and because it is a Saturday night draw the jackpot is estimated to be worth £4.1 million – so have your tickets ready for tomorrow night and you could match the UK Lotto results and become the ninth jackpot winner in a row for this lottery game.
