First "New Lotto" Draw Held: 1.4 Million Prizes Won!

Last Updated: Thursday 11th June 2026, 10:40

The first draw of the exciting new Lotto format was held on Wednesday night. Although the starting £2 million jackpot wasn't won, players still took home over 1.4 million prizes. We'll go over the changes to Lotto (and Lotto HotPicks!) and see how they've affected your chances of winning.

Numbers & Winners for Wednesday 10th June

From now on whenever you play Lotto, you'll need to check your lines against two sets of winning numbers. For this draw, they were: 1-12-25-29-40-41 with a Bonus Ball of 16 in Round 1, and 2-5-12-42-47-54 with a Bonus Ball of 51 for Round 2. Each Round is drawn from a separate ball pool, hence the number 12 appearing in both Rounds. You can check a complete prize breakdown on our Results Page.

There were over 730,000 winners in each of the Rounds, equivalent to over 1.4 million prizes awarded in the draw. For comparison, the last Wednesday draw for the old Lotto (June 3rd) saw just shy of 600,000 prizes awarded.

Your £2 ticket enters your six numbers into both rounds automatically and both Rounds take place back-to-back. Since the prize tiers are the same as the old Lotto game, this effectively doubles your odds of winning a prize in every draw! To compensate for this, the prizes have been lowered for the bottom four tiers.

There were no jackpot winners in this draw, but a lot of people have been asking us how the new Lotto jackpot works, so here's a quick explanation. The new Lotto jackpot will be shared between both Rounds. For example, if the jackpot was £3 million and Round 1 had one winner, and Round 2 had two winners, the prize would be shared evenly: £1 million to each winner.

Lotto Millionaire Raffle

Besides this, the Lotto Millionaire Raffle has also been reintroduced to Lotto, although it will only be available on select draws. The next Lotto Millionaire Raffle draw is scheduled for Saturday July 4th. If you've played EuroMillions before, or Lotto from 2013-2018 when it was still a feature, you'll already be familiar with the concept for Lotto Millionaire Raffle. Each ticket you buy comes with a random code printed on it, and a limited number of winning codes are selected during the draw. If your code matches, you'll have won £1 million.

Unlike lottery draw games where the odds of winning are fixed, your chances of winning the Millionaire Raffle will depend on the number of tickets entered in each game, as well as the number of winning codes selected.

What's the rationale for the change?

One of the most common requests the National Lottery receives is to prioritise handing out more life-changing jackpots (and runner-up £1 million prizes, for that matter) vs. larger jackpots. By doubling our odds of winning all prizes, Allwyn has also doubled the number of future jackpot and Match-5+Bonus winners at a stroke – and that's before taking into consideration the number of Lotto Millionaire Raffle winners there will be going forwards.

What about Lotto HotPicks?

Lotto HotPicks, an alternative way of playing Lotto that shares the same draw numbers as Lotto, is also affected by the changes. Your Lotto HotPicks numbers will be entered into both Rounds, doubling your odds of winning. However, the prizes if you do win will be half the value of the old Lotto HotPicks prizes.
