Irish Lottery jackpot estimated at €8.5 million

Last Updated: Tuesday 7th August 2012, 09:06

Tonight will sees the Irish Lottery boast a jackpot of an estimated €8.5 million. The irish Lotto is not well known for multiple consecutive rollovers and tonight's impressive jackpot is something of a rarity but we have no doubt that many will be hoping to have the 'Luck of the Irish' tonight! Last Saturday’s jackpot was estimated to be around the eight million mark but actually came in at €7,738,194. It was still a high jackpot amount for this lottery but just slightly less than it was originally estimated at.

To reach the current estimated jackpot amount the Irish Lotto has rolled consecutively for ten draws meaning that if no one can match all six main numbers drawn tonight then we will see the Irish Lotto roll for an amazing eleventh time as see the jackpot fast approach the €10 million mark.

The first ever Irish Lotto draw took place back in April 1988 and since then the largest every jackpot to be produced by this lottery, a staggering €18,963,441, was won by sixteen members of a lottery syndicate from the quarry and concrete plant in Bennekerry, Dan Morrissey Ltd. Are we going to see the rollovers continue for the Irish Lotto to produce a record-breaking jackpot?

With the National Lottery jackpot being won at the weekend and the massive Euromillions jackpot being scooped up by one French winning ticket last night, tonight could see the Irish Lottery also being won be someone. You never know, luck could be on your side so keep your fingers crossed and hope Lady Luck is on your side.
