Last Call for Lotto jackpot

Last Updated: Thursday 24th September 2020, 15:51

Despite several appeals in the media – including on these very pages – a £3.6 million UK Lotto prize will expire at 5pm today if the winning ticketholder does not come forward. The jackpot prize has been outstanding since September 23rd 2009 and despite many appeals for the winner to come forward, no one has yet appeared with the winning ticket.

The draw was held on 23rd September 2009 and the winning numbers in the UK Lotto draw were 23 – 25 – 28 – 41 – 46 – 47, the bonus ball 27. One ticket matched all the winning numbers to win the £3.6 million jackpot. The winning ticket was sold in the Scottish Constituency of Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey but the winning ticketholder is yet to come forward.

Time is running out though and the winner now only has until 5pm tonight to call the National Lottery helpline and come forward with the lotto ticket. If that doesn’t happen then the entire £3.6 million jackpot and all the interest it has accrued will be added to the fund for good causes.

Unclaimed jackpots are thankfully rare but there is one way you can ensure you never lose a lotto ticket. You can play the UK Lotto and buy lotto tickets online through our pages. Your lottery numbers and tickets will be stored online and the National Lottery will even send you an email if you win, even if it’s just £10! You can store your numbers and play up to eight weeks in advance and the best bit? There’s no way you can possibly lose your lottery ticket!
