Lotto Cash for Six Players

Last Updated: Wednesday 12th September 2018, 12:22

It’s always great to hear about winners on the Lotto but imagine the surprise of players in last night’s National Lottery draw to think they were millionaires on the £4 million draw and then to find that six tickets matched all the winning numbers. It’s a big share on the Lotto as six lucky players match all six winning numbers, none of them becoming millionaires.

In the event the lotto jackpot was worth £4.5 million and the players who matched all six winning numbers had probably spent a lot of time thinking about what they were going to spend their millions on. Yet not one of the players will actually become a millionaire after sharing the lottery jackpot with five other players.

That’s a lot of lucky lottery tickets for one lottery draw and split six ways each lottery player will receive £762,709 in prize money. It’s a lot less than one would expect for a lottery win although you could hardly feel disappointed with three quarters of a million.

The lottery results in last night’s draw were 9 – 27 – 28 – 33 – 39 – 41, the bonus ball 12. Interestingly the numbers were well spaced and right across the play board which might go some way to explaining why there were so many winners in one draw.

It wasn’t just the jackpot winners that got lucky either, another twenty two lucky players matched five balls and the bonus ball and each of those win a little over £64,000.

The next National Lottery draw will be held on Wednesday 22nd July and the estimated jackpot will be £2.4 million.
