Lotto Player Wins £9.3 Million Jackpot

Last Updated: Wednesday 23rd September 2020, 14:00

A Lotto player scooped Saturday night’s £9.3 million jackpot, becoming the fifth top prize winner in 2018 and the second in March. The sum had built as a result of three rollovers since a single player picked up £7.9 million on Saturday 10th.

Winning Lotto Numbers

The winning Lotto numbers for Saturday 24th March 2018 were 3, 11, 16, 36, 43 and 59 with Bonus Ball 49. As well as the jackpot winner, there were three players who picked up £25,193 each for matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball.

In addition, one ticket holder won £1 million for matching the top tier Lotto Millionaire Raffle code GOLD 1726 7851. Another 20 Raffle winners picked up £20,000.

Lotto Winner

Saturday’s Lotto winner is yet to come forward, meaning that it is not known yet whether they are an individual or a lottery syndicate. The National Lottery has yet to release details of whether the winning line was played in store or online. The location of the sale, if it was a physical entry, will only be revealed if the prize remains unclaimed for more than a few weeks.

If the winner comes forward before that happens, they can choose to go public and reveal details of their story and their plans for the money at a press conference. If they opt to remain anonymous, the National Lottery will not release any information on them, including where they played.

There is a third option that some big winners take; partial publicity. In this case, typically their gender, the first letter of their surname, their occupation and general location might be revealed, along with interesting details about their win. Often, partial publicity winners allow the lottery to tell the press more about the fun purchases they intend to make.

Next Lotto Jackpot

There are two more chances to win Lotto in March, with Wednesday’s jackpot worth £1.8 million. You can buy tickets from authorised retailers up until 7:30pm on the day of the draw. Alternatively, improve your odds of taking a share of the jackpot by joining a Lotto syndicate, where you have far more lines played on your behalf than are affordable for an individual.
