Last Updated: Thursday 24th September 2020, 12:42

Anyone who has closely followed the lottery’s involvement in sport and the London Olympics 2012 will know that Sport Council and Sport England are to merge. The two companies deal with lottery funding for good causes into Sport and of course the lottery’s involvement in the London Olympics 2012 but now Sir Keith Mills of Tottenham Hotspur fame has been brought in to oversee the lottery merger.

The merger of the two lottery ventures is crucial to continuing commitment from the lottery good causes fund for both Sport and London 2012 and will save administration costs, which means even more money for sport in the long run. We’re on the downward run now towards London 2012 and lottery players have already raised many millions from the sale of lottery tickets and by designated games throughout the UK.

Sir Keith Mills was the Chief Executive for London’s for the 2012 Olympics, as well as being Director of Tottenham Hotspur. He’s also one of the country’s most famous entrepreneurs, inventing both Airmiles and the Nectar card loyalty scheme, making him the ideal choice to oversee this venture, ensuring lottery money ends up in the right place!

To help the London 2012 fund, the National Lottery are launching the new Lotto Plus 5 game this month, one of the many designated games running up to 2012. You can buy lottery tickets for the new game alongside your usual lottery tickets and while you’re doing that, it’s worth remembering that Saturday night is Lotto rollover night! That’s right, this Saturday the UK Lotto has an estimated jackpot of £7.2 million!
