Two Friends Win Lotto Jackpot Together

Last Updated: Thursday 5th December 2013, 13:19

The Lotto jackpot has been won five times so far this month and now the ticket holders from one of these wins have come forward. Two friends, who are Henry Milne and Joe McKay, won the Lotto jackpot together from the draw which took place on the 16th March. In this draw there was a £6 million jackpot on offer to win but as they were one of five tickets that all matched the six numbers drawn the top prize was split meaning that Henry and Joe took home the prize of £1.2 million.

These two friends met 40 years ago when playing darts and have remained friends ever since. They set up a lottery syndicate together however luck was finally on their side earlier this month when the numbers, which had been selected using the Lucky Dip facility, on their tickets, were drawn in the results. However, they didn’t find out till a few days after the draw as Henry forget to check the numbers.

After he did check the tickets on the following Tuesday he went into shock and couldn’t bring himself to drive around to Joe’s house. His two daughters took him round in the end and when he told Joe he didn’t believe him. This Lotto jackpot win couldn’t have come at a better time for these two friends as both are finding themselves near retirement – well done to these Lotto jackpot winners, well deserved!
