EuroMillions Player Claims £71 Million Jackpot

The National Lottery has confirmed that the EuroMillions player who won £71 million in Friday night’s draw has already come forward to claim their money. It is the 15th-largest prize to have ever been awarded in the UK and the second biggest EuroMillions jackpot of the year.
The winning numbers on Friday 15th March were 3, 15, 24, 42 and 46, with Lucky Stars 9 and 12. There were over 2.2 million prizes given away on the night, but the glory belonged to the only ticket holder who matched the full line. Go to the Results page to see a full breakdown of all the payouts.
The big winner had 180 days to make contact with the National Lottery and start the claims process, but they have already got in touch about receiving the eight-figure sum. The next step will be for a validation appointment to take place and for the winner to decide whether they wish to go public.
If they decide to stay anonymous, no further information will be released about where the ticket was bought or whether the owner is an individual or a syndicate.
While the majority of big winners stay private, Frances and Patrick Connolly from Northern Ireland opted to tell their story to the world when they snapped up £114 million on New Year’s Day. The Connollys revealed that they would be using their money to help others and had drawn up a list of around 50 close friends and family members who they would be sharing it with.
As well as Friday’s EuroMillions winner, the participant who scooped £3.8 million in Saturday’s Lotto draw will also have to make up their mind about publicity, after the National Lottery announced that both jackpot prizes from the weekend had been claimed.
First Set For Life Draw Takes Place
There were no winners of the top prize in the first Set For Life draw last night, but 137,000 players did pick up awards across the other seven categories. Check out the Results to see a full prize breakdown.
To play Set For Life, you have to select main five numbers from 1 to 47 and one Life Ball between 1 and 10. If you match all the winning numbers, you receive £10,000 a month for 30 years instead of a one-off jackpot. Two players came close in the first draw, matching all five main numbers without the Life Ball to receive £10,000 a month for one year.
The game costs £1.50 per line and draws take place on Mondays and Thursdays. You can take part online or by going to any authorised retailer, and it could just be that you become the game’s first jackpot winner. Good luck!
